Arrival in Oslo – individual travel at your own pace
You arrange your own flight to Oslo. On the evening before the tour starts, we meet in central Oslo for a relaxed get-together:
- Welcome by the tour leader team
- Presentation of the route
- Final tips on equipment
- Refreshments and snacks included
Day 1: Oslo – Finse – Geiterygghytta
- Early arrival at Oslo Central Station (Oslo S)
- Train journey on the Bergen Railway to Finse – breakfast, coffee, and snacks included on the train
- Start of the mountain hike at approx. 1,222 meters above sea level
- Hike along well-marked mountain trails to Geiterygghytta
- Lunch along the way
- Arrival, shower (if available), three-course dinner, cozy hut atmosphere, and overnight stay
Day 2: Geiterygghytta – Aurlandsdalshytta
- Breakfast at the hut
- Hiking stage with three mountain guides – you hike at your own pace without worrying about navigation
- Lunch break along the way
- Waffle stop at Steinsbergsdalshytta
- Luggage transport to Aurlandsdalshytta
- Dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast at Aurlandsdalshytta
Day 3: Aurlandsdalen – Vassbygdi – Oslo
You hike the famous classic trail through the Aurlandsdalen – one of Norway’s most impressive gorges, featuring historic farms, steep rock walls, and the roaring river far below.
- Lunch along the way, waffles and coffee at Sinjarheim
- Luggage pickup in Vassbygdi and return journey by bus to Oslo

The price of €990 per person includes, among other things:
- Intensive guidance from the tour leader team before the trip (equipment, preparation, questions)

- Train journey Oslo – Finse including breakfast, coffee, and snacks

1. Contracting parties
These terms apply to the purchase of a trip and/or participation in a guided hike with:

The customer/participant is the person who books and pays for the trip, as well as any additional persons included in the same booking.
2. Booking and payment
2.1 Booking
The booking becomes binding for the customer once the organizer confirms the place in writing (by email or via the booking system).
2.2 Deposit (30%)
Upon booking, the customer pays a deposit of 30% (€297) of the total price per person.
- The deposit is due immediately upon booking
- The place is only guaranteed once the deposit has been received by the organizer
2.3 Remaining balance (70% by June 15)
The remaining 70% must be paid in full no later than June 15, 2026.
- For bookings after June 15, the full amount (100%) is due immediately
2.4 Late payment
If payment is not made on time:
- the organizer may cancel the booking, and
- retain the deposit as a cancellation fee

Before the trip
- Ongoing contact with the guides before the tour (equipment, fitness level, travel questions, etc.)
- Preparatory meeting on the first evening in Oslo with all guides and participants
- Refreshments and light snacks are included
- Membership in the Norwegian Trekking Association (DNT)
- Water bottle and cup for each participant
Day 1 – Oslo → Finse → Geiterygghytta
- Meeting at Oslo S and joint train journey to Finse
- Train ticket Oslo–Finse
- Breakfast, coffee, and refreshments on the train
- Hike from Finse to Geiterygghytta with three guides (one German-speaking guide)
- Lunch en route
- Dinner and overnight stay (bed) at Geiterygghytta
Day 2 – Geiterygghytta → Aurlandsdalshytta
- Breakfast at Geiterygghytta
- Day hike with three guides
- Lunch included
- Waffle at Steinsbergsdalshytta
- Luggage transport to Aurlandsdalshytta
- Dinner, overnight stay, and breakfast at Aurlandsdalshytta
Day 3 – Aurlandsdalen → Vassbygdi → Oslo
- Luggage transport to Vassbygdi
- Lunch along the way in Aurlandsdalen
- Waffle and coffee at Sinjarheim
- Bus transfer from Vassbygdi back to Oslo
4. Services not included
Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the following are not included:
- Hiking equipment (clothing, hiking/mountain boots, backpack, poles, etc.)
- Personal toiletries
- Train travel between Oslo Airport and central Oslo
- Overnight stay in Oslo on the first night before the tour
- Dinner on the first evening in Oslo
- Dinner on the final day after returning to Oslo
- Overnight stay in Oslo after the tour
- Any other meals, drinks, or activities not explicitly listed as included
5. Withdrawal (cancellation) by the customer
5.1 Form of withdrawal
Cancellations must be submitted in writing to booking@wheninnorway.no and supported by appropriate documentation.
5.2 Cancellation conditions
- More than 90 days before departure: deposit refunded
- Between 90 and 45 days before departure: deposit is non-refundable; any amount paid beyond the deposit will be refunded
- Less than 45 days before departure: no refund (100% of the total price is retained)
5.3 Travel and cancellation insurance
Customers are advised to take out their own travel and cancellation insurance covering illness and other unforeseen events.
6. Changes and cancellation by the organizer
6.1 Minimum number of participants
A minimum of 10 participants is required. If this number is not reached, the organizer reserves the right to cancel the trip.
In this case, all payments made will be fully refunded.
The organizer is not responsible for other costs incurred by the customer (e.g. flights, hotel stays).
6.2 Program changes
Minor changes to the program, route, or accommodation may be made due to weather, safety, or other necessary circumstances.
Equivalent alternatives will be offered where possible.
Such changes generally do not entitle participants to a price reduction or compensation.
6.3 Force majeure
The organizer is not responsible for cancellation or interruption due to circumstances beyond its control, such as:
- extreme weather or natural disasters
- strikes
- pandemics
- government measures or restrictions
7. Responsibility and requirements of the customer
7.1 Physical condition
Customers are responsible for realistically assessing their health and fitness. The tour involves multiple days of hiking in mountain terrain, 5–7 hours per day, partly on uneven ground.
7.2 Equipment
Customers must bring suitable personal equipment (hiking/mountain boots, weatherproof clothing, backpack, etc.) according to the equipment list provided in advance.
7.3 Compliance with instructions
Participants must follow the guides’ instructions and respect safety rules.
The organizer may exclude participants who fail to comply or who pose a risk to themselves or others. No refund will be given in such cases.
8. Limitation of liability
The organizer is responsible for providing the agreed services but is not liable for losses or costs resulting from:
- circumstances beyond the organizer’s control
- misconduct or insufficient preparation by the customer
- actions of third parties (e.g. transport providers, hotels), within the limits of applicable law
Liability is limited to the amount paid for the trip, unless mandatory legal provisions state otherwise.
9. Privacy
Personal data (name, contact details, and any health information voluntarily provided) is processed in accordance with applicable privacy laws.
Data is used solely for trip administration, safety, and necessary communication.
Customers may request access, correction, or deletion of their data in accordance with regulations.
10. Complaints and disputes
Complaints must be submitted in writing to the organizer as soon as possible and within a reasonable time after the issue arises.
If no agreement is reached, disputes may be brought before the competent courts at the organizer’s place of business, unless mandatory consumer protection laws provide otherwise.
