Did you know?

In Norway we love to gå på tur - to go for a hike! When we meet fellow hikers on the trail we greet them with a friendly: "Hei! God tur!" meaning "Hey, have a nice walk!".
Whether it’s under the warm summer sun or surrounded by a winter wonderland, hiking is a cherished activity for Norwegians. Our tours let you experience the beauty of Oslo’s nature throughout the year.

Meeting point

All our hiking tours in Oslo start right next to the iconic Tiger statue in front of the Oslo Visitor Centre, located at Jernbanetorget in the heart of the city.

It’s an easily accessible spot, with most buses, subways, trams, and trains stopping at Jernbanetorget, making it simple to reach us from anywhere in central Oslo.

From here, we’ll take you on an adventure to explore the best views of the Oslo fjord and the surrounding nature!

A little history

Oslo city is surrounded by lush green forests. It only takes a short train ride to step into the wilderness. Locals use public transportation to access some of the most beautiful spots around Oslo. Only 15-20 minutes away by metro - and you are in the heart of the green forest.

And the adventure begins! Norwegians call metro system T-bane, but in the past, we called it trikk (tram).

On this historic photo you see King Olav V showing his ticket for trikken to the tram inspector, probably on his way to enjoy a hike. Notice the ski poles? It’s clear he was preparing for a gå på tur!
