Day-by-day program
August 9 – Arrival in Oslo – Train to Finse & meet & greet
We meet in Oslo in the evening for a relaxed introduction. We go through the program, provide practical information, answer questions, and make sure you feel well taken care of from the very beginning. An ideal opportunity to get to know your guides and fellow travelers.
Day 1 – August 10: Finse – Geiterygghytta
From Finse, we hike along marked trails toward Geiterygghytta, surrounded by vast high-mountain terrain, mountain lakes, and views of glaciers and peaks.
In the evening, we settle into the hut for a warm dinner, good company, and the special tranquility of the Norwegian mountains.
Day 2 – August 11: Geiterygghytta – Steinbergdalshytta – Aurlandsdalshytta
After breakfast, we head toward Steinbergdalshytta.
We continue the hike on foot, crossing the mountains and descending toward the Aurlandsdalen. The landscape gradually turns greener, the valley deeper—a beautiful transition from rugged high mountains to a lush alpine landscape. We stop at Steinbergdalshytta for coffee and waffles along the way.
Later in the afternoon, we arrive at Aurlandsdalshytta, where your luggage is already waiting. We enjoy a good dinner and a well-earned, cozy evening in the hut.
Day 3 – August 12: Aurlandsdalshytta – Vassbygdi – Oslo
On the final day, we hike the famous stage through the Aurlandsdalen—often called the “Grand Canyon of Norway.” The trail leads through dramatic, ever-changing scenery with waterfalls, steep rock walls, and lush vegetation. We take a break at the charming Sinjarheim before continuing to Vassbygdi.
In Vassbygdi, our bus awaits to take us back to central Oslo without transfers. The journey concludes with an overnight stay and dinner at a centrally located hotel—rich in impressions, new connections, and unforgettable nature experiences.
